Artist Bio
Nicole Onyshczak enjoys exploring texture in natural forms from the environment. She finds a comfort and inner sense of peace while crafting with mixed materials in the natural element. Born and raised outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Nicole received her BFA in Ceramics from Tyler School of Art at Temple University (PA) and MA in Art Education at Kutztown University (PA). Nicole is in her sixteenth year as a teaching artist, encouraging children to build their confidence through the exploration of art materials. Her professional history includes positions at independent private schools, public school districts, charter schools, art camps and the Mural Corps Art Program of Philadelphia, PA through Tyler School of Art. Nicole’s work was featured in the presentation Bind, Stitch, Layer and Sew: Bookmaking as Pedagogical Practice at the 110th CAA Annual Conference.
